Watercolor Paintings on the John Day River in Astoria Oregon

Hello and good day to every one!
Today I am sharing three small watercolor paintings of landscapes I did a few years back. One day I and my husband decided to take our small boat out on the John Day river in Astoria Oregon, back then we were living in Astoria.  I decided to take my sketch book and wanted to sketch a few simple landscapes.
When I got home I transferred the sketches on watercolor paper and began painting with the paints and water. Then I photographed the pieces and just added a framing overlay on each painting.

It's back to the Dogs, a Cartoon dog with different Overlays.

Good afternoon, today I am going back to the dogs, I want to share one of my favorite cartoon dogs, this dog was created because of my dog who was named polar, so this cartoon dog is called polar.  So this first picture is the original drawing done in watercolors.
Yes I made the dog blue because his name is polar and I thought of bright blue for this cartoon.

In the second picture  I added an extra watercolor overlay and a aging overlay along a retro to fade the color even more and make it look quite old.

In the last picture I was able to double the image add aging overlay and a sepia overlay to get this final look.  I had lots of playing around with this painting and using different vintage looks.

Needle pen illustration Winter for the Male Elk vintage

This is a illustration of a male elk walking during a winter day the drawing was created with 0.05 needle pen which a very fine detail pen.  The art work was created only from a mere thought I had and maybe growing up in Montana had a little to do with it.
The art work was photographed and uploaded to my smart photo editor where I sharpened the image and added a snow with a vintage overlay to the art work.
This is one of my most favorite art designs that I have done and I hope to do more elk illustrations and maybe a few moose I have an idea running around in my head for an moose illustration.

Fantasy Folk art of a Meridmaid created in Needle Pen

Today I thought I share one of my drawings of Folk art Fantasy, after all I do love living on the Oregon coast where my imagination can create lots of art. So this is the original drawing that is matted and has a clear covering but thought lets play around with the digital sketch and online photo editor and see what happens.

Now I have added a bit of watercolor using the sketch book online, I have blended some of the needle pen to make it a little smoother looking.  Next I uploaded the art work to the Photo editor where I added digital overlays a darken and gritty overlay and I really like how this design came out.  I think I will have post cards printed up with this look and some prints.

Dogs are on My Mind

It is late afternoon on the Oregon coast and I have been doing a bit of drawing and for some reason my mind has gone to the dogs!
Must be because I am a pet owner, I have drawn lots of dogs for Valentine's day and just dogs being a dog here is one of my rough designs.
The drawing was inspired by the larger dog I had named Polar Bear who just loved dog toys that squeaked.
This is just a tough drawing in its first stage later I will add more details and maybe put an overlay or two on it not sure yet need to think and add in a little more detail yet.

What's Going on! Two Blogs

This blog will be about what I am drawing or illustrating I will be posting pictures and some videos I might also talk a little about what's happening here in Garibaldi Oregon.
Okay let's get started, the first drawing I am talking about is a chalk pastel painting of a mother horse and her colt.
The painting was done on dark blue velvet paper with chalk pastels.  The two horses are just a simple thought I had in my mind, I was kind of thinking of my grandfathers farm in Montana when I began drawing the horses.
The painting took about 3 weeks to complete, but the interesting think is I decided to photograph it and add a digital watercolor overlay using my smart photo editor. The second photo is the final result which I like so very much the first one is the original painting. I am gonna play around more and see what else I can come up with this painting there is lots to do.
I have also gotten copy rights on all my art work because I need to keep it safe. Also check my Zazzle Pazzle blog because this will be there for sale on a few items.
